Check out the kayaking only 20 minutes from the beautiful city of Vancouver. Vancouver’s North Shore has three waterways for prime winter whitewater kayaking: Lynn Creek and the Seymour River, on North Vancouver’s east side, and the Capilano. The weather never gets too cold in the Vancouver area, and the whitewater playgrounds do not freeze in the winter.

This is a nice website put up by a family who do camping from their canoes. They tell you what you need to know and have for these types of adventures. They even talk about sandbar camping which is really fun!

This a great website for beginners to experts on camping from your canoe. It has advice on what gear to take, canoe camping with a family, and even recipes for camping. A complete resource guide for canoers. Get out there and camp!

Well I for one had never heard of canoe polo before today, but it sounds like great fun. Perhaps I shall organize a team here in Florida. I am sure it would be interesting.
Canoeing, Kayaking and Camping the Beautiful Suwannee River (Mon Oct 3, 2005)
This is the best website on the internet about canoeing or kayaking on the Suwannee River. The river is located in north Florida and stretches from the Okefenokee swamp in Georgia to the Gulf of Mexico. It provides a wealth of information on the river, talks about the effect of different water levels, has a series of interesting trip reports, GPS coordinates along the river, and more. There is also a page on building a Cedar Strip Canoe.
Float Plan (Wed May 17, 2006)
If you are going out in your kayak or canoe, you really should file a float plan with someone. It is important for to always let someone know where you are going and when you will be back. This link provides a form for you to use. Safe Paddling!
Florida may require kayaking course (Wed Dec 20, 2006)
I would be interested to hear what our readers think about this article, please email us at kayakingtoday@gmail.com. I think that considering the amount of deaths I have seen this year all over the U.S., a course for safety would be a wonderful idea.
